Approval Appstore - Replenishment of third-party gift codes through the application

We asked our client to develop an application that will allow them to redeem gift codes that unlock additional content. The application itself would not provide a way to acquire these codes.

This will work something like this:
1) customer shops for groceries
2) upon receipt of the receipt / invoice at checkout, the client receives a gift code.
3) entering this code into the application opens up additional premium content that is not available otherwise.

The question is, will this app be approved by Apple?

In our opinion, this model is the next item in the Apple App Store App Review Guide

11.14 Applications can read or play approved content (in particular magazines, newspapers, books, audio, music and videos) that are subscribed to or purchased outside the application, if there is no button or external link in the application to purchase approved content. Apple will not receive any portion of revenue for approved content that is signed or purchased outside of the app

but, on the other hand, this point:

11.1 Applications that unlock or enable additional features or functions with mechanisms other than the App Store will be rejected

Do you know any of the applications using a similar business model?

We did something very similar for a large snack company. The user entered the EAN codes (European equivalent of UPC codes) from the package to unlock various musical instruments from the application. Apple has not rejected the application, and it is still for sale today.
