I have a general question related to the quartz planning framework:
I need to complete the task after a certain amount of time after user registration. For simplicity, let's say exactly 1 hour after user registration in my system. The task must be completed, even if the system reboots within this hour, the task must be remembered, and it MUST be completed later if my system does not work at normal times.
Is this something where I can or where I will use quartz? I looked at permanent jobs that look pretty promising, but I'm not sure if this will work for 1000 jobs a day. Also, I'm not sure about the performance. Maybe someone can help me with the information here.
If Quartz is not the right choice, what other ways / framework do you see on this issue? My application is a Java 6 / Spring 3 based web application.
