UIScrollView not only supports scrolling, but also scaling and shutting down, in fact it is a superclass of things like webViews and tableViews.

It is a matter of setting the UIImageView inside the UIScrollView and making the contentSize match and enable scaling (max / min scaling - 1.0 by default setting it to something else allows scaling).
