Css does not work after uploading file on server with filezilla or cpanel

I uploaded the file.css file on the server with filezilla as well as cpanel. But when I browse the site, css is not affected.

I changed: padding-left: 10px; If I see the page view source, I see that there is an old file.

What could be the reason for this?

Try a hard update. CTRL Shift R. This should cause all cached files to be cleared. This is most likely a problem if the file does not load. If you see a new file specified in Filezilla, then this is a cache problem.

Have you replaced / overwritten an existing css file? It seems that the old one was not overwritten - in this case you will have to do this for the changes to take effect.

Do you use CMS? Some of them have cache features, where it may take time to reflect these changes if you do not update them.

http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/programs/htcacheclean.html

If you use apache2, this is surprising, use the -i option, the reason the files are not updated, because they are cached, if you cannot do this, you can always change href = "styles.css" to href = "styles. css? v = version2 ", it makes the server think there is a new file, so it updates the cache

Have you checked the resolution for css files?

It should be 644 for all files and 755 for all folders.

I changed the name of the .css file, deleted the old one from the server, reloaded and redirected html to the new and downloaded css file. For some reason, it worked like a charm.

First try to clear the cache. If nothing happens, link your CSS as follows:

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="style.css?hjwqj">

This should help.
