Hi, I am trying to run mysqld on Windows 7. I installed mysql 5.5.15. I cannot start mysqld as a service. I had an MS SQL service running before MySql, stopping this service before starting mysql as a service.
Have you installed MySQL on the machine before? If so, you need to make sure you stop this service and completely remove it before trying to reinstall MySQL.
If not, try reinstalling and follow these directions .
