Playing .wav files on an Android phone

I need to populate an application on an Android phone that plays four sound files when four separate buttons are pressed.

The problem is that sound files are .wav files. They are also stereo files. I need to play them on an Android phone without compression and in stereo.

I understand that .wav cannot be played on Android phones, as it is uncompressed and that I will need to convert the file format, but I had no luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Android can certainly open / play WAV files.

Use android.media.MediaPlayer to play them, either in mp3 or in another format.

From Android 4.0.1, Android supports Wave (.wav) formats, you can access 8-bit or 16-bit .wav audio files
