The easiest way to fix this is to reinstall NetBeans. I do not think your settings are corrupted. Therefore, in order to save the settings, before deleting you will need to export your settings.
- Open Options Dialog: Tools> Options
- Click Export
- Select the location and file name that will be used for the zip file
- Select a category to export
Please note: if the category is not included, it means that you have not made any changes to this category.
If you have certain libraries and want to save the configuration, you need to copy the build.properties file, which is located in your .netbeans directory, since only the export will not save this configuration (due to the fact that these settings must be moved to another computer , and libraries for your computer). On Windows, your .netbeans directory is in your user directory. For example, on my machine (Windows 7), this location is C:\Users\Jonathan\.netbeans .
After you reinstall, import your settings back into the IDE and then replace the build.properties file.
