CouchDB free also for business?

Often, you can use open source projects for free until you make money yourself. At this point, you often need to acquire another license in exchange for cash, citing mySQL as an example. But I can not find such information about couchDB. So I wonder if it's completely free, even if you build a business on it. Can you confirm this?

Check out Licenses on the Apache Couch DB website , which links to the main Apache license site.

In general, Apache licenses are fairly open and allow you to do what you want with them, provided that you attribute the original work that you use in Apache, distribute the license when distributing any Apache projects, and note any changes you make.

To determine what the License means for your specific use, contact a friendly lawyer to inform you of legal issues.

CouchDB, like all Apache projects, is licensed under the Apache license, which allows all uses, including commercial. You certainly do not need to pay anything to use CouchDB.

Your MySQL example is incorrect. You can use the open source MySQL version even in a commercial environment. It is true that there is a paid version if you want additional features or support, but, like CouchDB, there are no restrictions on the use of MySQL in a commercial environment.
