Mobile safari and uiwebview have a difference in the detection of phone numbers

I am viewing a page in a mobile safari with the text 800 LUV-1234 inside html (no tel: link). This text is automatically detected as a phone number, but when I see the same web page with options such as

self.webView.dataDetectorTypes = UIDataDetectorTypeAll;

it does not work properly. What could be wrong? I thought that this option alone would make the same text converted to a detectable phone number. Do you have any other suggestions?

It should work, the only thing I can offer is to make sure that self.webView is initialized and correctly points to the UIWebView instance. Are other data detector objects detected correctly in UIWebView?
