How to package H264 in RTP?

I have a H264 stream from my mobile camera. In my Java application, I can access a stream frame already encoded with H264. I need to transfer it to the Wowza media server. Since wowza only understands RTP / RTSP streams, can I just add an RTP header for each data frame and pass it to wowza?

It's not as simple as adding a headline.

  • RTP batch processing will require you to fragment in the H.264 bit stream in accordance with the RTP payload format for H.264 video
  • If Wowza requires RTSP support, you need to implement an RTSP server and implement the RTSP protocol to control RTP flow.

You might want to check the VLC if it can receive video from the camera directly or through your application and re-expose it using the RTSP / RTP protocol. If you find a suitable option, it may be easier to execute a sequence of threads this way.
