Unable to use PowerMock with Robolectric

As discussed in this link - https://groups.google.com/group/powermock/browse_thread/thread/25ba2b85d9e576f4 , I tried using PowerMock with Robolectric to mock the static method. But this throws some hard-to-understand exceptions.

Below is my test class:

The above exception seems to indicate that Robolectric cannot create the application context. Any idea on how I can make both work together?

Upgrade PowerMock to version 1.4.9. I think I am using 1.5.1 and I do not see the same error. I have:

 @RunWith(RobolectricTestRunner.class) @PrepareForTest(MyStaticClass.class)

and they do not conflict.

I found a way to use PowerMock in combination with Robolectric.

In addition to standard PowerMock banks, the PowerMock Junit rule is also required. It describes how to capture it. I used the objenesis download version because objenesis alone is very bad. This works with PowerMock 1.5.5 and Robolectric 2.3, I can not talk about older versions. Also note that the Java agent should not be turned on, because in my experience it causes problems.
