DCP - missing component

Don’t ask me, but I’m in a situation where I have published DCPs that have identifiers of components that no longer exist in Tridion!

I know that the GUI will stop you by deleting the component if it is published, but somehow (perhaps the unpublishing failed, but CM still deleted the component ???), they were removed from CM, and now I have a download DCP in the broker I can not get rid!

Has anyone ever experienced this? Anyway to fix besides manually updating db?

This is Tridion 2011 setup, single deployer, single broker db.

The most common supported way to solve this is to manually create a transport package that removes the infringing DCPs.

So:

  • Set the Cleanup option to False in the cd_deployer_conf.xml file
  • Unpublish DCP
  • Capture transport zip file
  • Open the instructions.xml file in zip
  • Change it to point to DCP
  • Drop the updated zip file into the inbox of the deployment center

Compliments to Puf for creativity. I tested his Tridion customer support approach and although they say it is a gray area, they will allow it.

The only alternative is to create a new brokers database and publish everything that has already been published there. Then you can change it to live db.
