Invalid version number sent to apple

I am trying to introduce an application update with version 1.7.1 in the appstore. When I do this, I get this error when checking

This package is not valid. The CFBundleShortVersionString key in the Info.plist file must contain a higher version than the version of the previously downloaded version.

When deleting unsuccessful attempts in the organizer, I noticed that update 1.7 was introduced as version 17!

Bingo!

So the question is this.

Is there any way to fix this? Or am I stuck using versions over 17 now?

You should now use version greater than 17. You should not contact Apple for this problem.
