Can no longer run applications after upgrding for android sdk 20 / platform sdk tools 12

Question

I updated my sdk tools and now I can no longer run applications from Eclipse (I can still install from the command line. When I start, I get an error window and an empty device collector. The error window says:

An error has occurred. See error log for more details. com.android.ddmlib.IDevice.getName()Ljava/lang/String; 

I'm not sure what to look for in a magazine.

DDMS also sees that the device is normal. I am not sure what is wrong here, and cannot find anything on Google or SO.

Removing and then reinstalling the tools solved the problem.

I have the same problem. In my situation. I have adt r18 installed.and in eclipse, I upgrade adt r18 to r20. This problem comes out. After updating the ddms module, it is fixed.

I had to reinstall ALL Android plugins in Eclipse, not just Android development tools. It works again.

In Eclipse, go to Help-> Check For Updates , and then update your Android tools to the latest version.

Just update your DDMS to the latest version of the Help form > Install new software> already installed> Android DDMS . it solved my problem!
