Creating paused / intermittent beeps in the iPhone app

I am creating one sound application where I need to generate various vibrations for a sound wave. One part I need to achieve is an intermittent or paused beep. I am trying to do this using variables in a sine wave using Core Audio, but I am not getting the desired result.

Basically I need to generate variable sound vibrations, such as the Dog Whistler application.

Can someone help me in the right direction for this

see my other answer as a background music loop. You can create a sound file with a 0.5 second beep and 1 second silence and a loop that will be infinite using AVAudioPlayer . In addition to pausing a sequence of beeps through [player pause];

This will work if you have predefined intervals / vibrations of the audio signal, but not if you need a 100% user setting. You can also search for sound effects to adjust the pitch and frequency.
