Fixed OS X application

What is the easiest way to fix an OS X application not released through the Mac App Store?

From what I put together, the โ€œstandardโ€ way is through bsdiff and bspatch, but I noticed that the software bundle has screens for fixing the software, which are essentially identical, so I was wondering if the tool had something there, What makes software fix easier?

Here the screen that I see is practically the same for all the applications that it has: buttons, wordings, headings and all in one - the only change is the icon, titles and release notes.

It also looks through the same โ€œprompts for downloading, installing updatesโ€ (etc.), the only option is the application icon.
