Cannot get pubDate for output in Yahoo! Pipes

In one of my RSS feeds on Yahoo! Pipes, I'm formatting a date using the Date Formatter module and using the% K format so that they are compatible with pubDate. In the output of the handset, my four dates are displayed as follows: Wed, 25 Jul 2012 03:30:00 +0000 , Mon, 16 Jul 2012 06:30:00 +0000 , Wed, 11 Jul 2012 07:00:00 +0000 and Wed, 27 Jun 2012 13:00:00 +0000 .

However, none of these dates appears in the RSS output line. Are they formatted incorrectly? Why Yahoo! Pipes do not output these dates?

So now I understand that I need to output dates to y:published , not pubDate . This does not appear to be widely documented. Even Googling y:published does not return many results.

Below are more detailed steps:

  • You have a readable date like 8 Jan 2013 in its own field, like pubDate (the name doesn't matter, it's just used in Step 2 ).
  • Connect the feed to the Loop module. Inside this module, place the Date Builder module and specify the field where the date is found (for example, pubDate ).
  • Still in the Loop module, select assign results and enter item.y:published .

This should print the RSS feed date in the pubDate field, and therefore it should be readable in any RSS reader.
