Advocacy Mediation - Publisher ID vs. Mediation ID

I want to know what is the right paradigm for Admob mediation.
I still have a regular AdView banner.

Here's how they think it should work:

  • onFailedToReceiveAd - catch this event, which means that admob cannot provide ads.
  • create a new AdView banner with a reseller ID and make it VISIBLE

so is this the best practice?
create two banners. one with a "regular" publisher id
and the other with an intermediary identifier

The right approach:

  • Create a banner with the mediation ID.
  • When setting up this mediation location on admob.com, configure AdMob as one of the ad networks in this reseller placement. If you want AdMob to be requested first every time, use an eCPM order and give AdMob the highest effective CPM.

As such, Mediation will always request an AdMob ad. If this fails, Mediation will automatically try your next network for you. This saves you from having to follow this retry logic yourself. onFailedToReceiveAd will only be called if all ad networks have failed to return the ad.
