As with the case, you touch the screen and it gets your fingerprint? No. There is no such scanning technology on the touch screen. As for Mark's comment on using the camera, this can be very difficult. Changes in lighting make it very difficult to select all the lines in the fingerprint.

No. Most touchscreen devices are capable of recording a small number of simultaneous touches - no more than a dozen. Therefore, even if the resolution (position accuracy) and sensitivity (pressure accuracy) were sufficient, you could not scan enough details.

The only Android phone I know about this was the built-in fingerprint reader - Motorola Atrix. Theoretically, software could be developed using a camera and image processing code to complete this task, but I have not heard of any serious attempts. Please note that this approach is different from the novelty applications that you see on the market today. Another option would be to interact with an external fingerprint scanner via USB using the USB Host API: https://developer.android.com/guide/topics/connectivity/usb/host.html

I do not think so. A quick google search turned out to be this company , although they seem to offer a different (iris, voice, manual geometry, signature, and apparently more) biometric security for Android phones.

Quote from your site:

"MobbID is a state-of-the-art multi-biometric security solution that reliably and securely verifies the identity of mobile phone users by using their unique features or in combination ie iris, voice, face, signature, hand geometry. Choose your best-fit biometric method or combine them for greater security and user convenience."
