Google Drive no longer has embedded images

Since August 7, 2012, Google Drive hasn’t shown images in documents uploaded to both the Google Drive web page and the API.

I used the Google Docs APIs to download HTML files that link to public images from the Internet. The API converts HTML to a Google document and displays the images in order. Suddenly yesterday this behavior is no longer available! Google Doc will show a gray square (same image size) with an arrow.

I realized that this happens even if I upload a Word document (.docx) using the Download function on the Google Drive website.

I have the same problem when I upload an image and say that we convert to a Google document format. It works great when I do not convert.
