PNG files for iOS

I just started developing for my first iOS application, and I'm confused about the type of .PNG file I need to use, or if it matters at all. I use Photoshop and Illustrator to create my images. Am I "Save for Web and Devices" as PNG-24? Or am I Save As .PNG? I have looked at many places and cannot find a lot of documentation.

Here is the resource for you:

To do this briefly:

PNG format is recommended for all images and icons (avoid using interlaced PNGs). The standard bit depth for icons and images is 24 bits (8 bits each for red, green, and blue) plus an 8-bit alpha channel. You do not need to limit your palette to Internet-safe colors. Although you can use alpha transparency in the icons that you create for navigation bars, toolbars, and tab bars, do not use the icons in the application.
