Chrome extension that adds an icon to omnibox

Question

I did a lot of searches and dried it. I feel like I've seen it before, but I can't find an extension in my arsenal that allows this.

What I would like to do is a chrome extension that can put an icon (or text, even better) on the right side of the omnibox in chrome.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

What you are looking for is called Page Action .

In which application should we use page actions? If you want to add your extension functions to several separate pages, use page actions. Otherwise, if you want to add features on most pages, use Browser Actions . The text cannot be added to the actions of the page, although it can be added to the actions of the browser with the restriction of the icon (a little text that overlays the icon).

A few good examples of such extensions to help you introduce the concept:

• Google RSS Subscription Extension . This extension only enters if it finds RSS feeds on the page
• Texts for Google Chrome . This extension only introduces its scripts on YouTube pages, creating a new div next to the video to display vid music lyrics.
