How did google + reach this layout?

Question

How Google+ on Android achieves this horizontal scroll while displaying multiple elements.

Also for memory usage, how would they destroy things that are off the screen and build them as they get closer to the screen?

I want to create something similar, but only with bitmaps that you can click.

I guess they use Fragments along with other Adapters .

Like someone else, they probably use some kind of adapter as well as scrollable.
