Delphi: How to set (write) advanced file properties?

I would like to set properties as shown in Windows Explorer Explorer Properties โ†’ Summary tab (Authors, Title, Subject, etc.). (Windows 7 has the Details tab) I already know how to use them using StgCreateStorageEx ,

Target file extensions are xls, xlsx, csv, txt and jpg files. OS: Windows 2003/2008 / XP / Windows 7. Please note that this code will work in the web service application, and Excel is not installed on the server.

Note. There seems to be no info / sample code on how to install them. Details tab

Partial answer: Delphi property code can be found here . or if you have the latest JCL library - use TJclFilePropertySet in jclNtfs.pas Warning: note that this code works for xls files, but it does not work for txt / cvs and jpg files in Windows 7 Pro / Enterprise or 2008 (64 bit ) It seems that M $ has changed the way properties work in these OSs: "You cannot add or change file properties for certain types of files. For example, you cannot add any properties to a TXT or RTF file . " Unfortunately, returning to XP mode is not an option for me.

To write summary information, use the IPropertyStorage: WriteMultiple method . See the MSDN WriteRead Sample . Not delphi, but easy to convert.
