Information on developing your own payment method (or any module in general) on the opencart website is rather scarce. Is there any better information on this topic elsewhere?
Unfortunately, this is not what is documented at all. My advice would be to copy files from a previous payment gateway, such as PayPal or pro standard, and build on it, or download a free payment gateway and work with files in this
