Entering UTF-8 characters in Sublime Text 2 on Ubuntu

I looked at everything, but I can’t figure it out.

I want to enter 2 byte characters in Sublime Text 2, and I cannot figure out how to do this. The standard way for Linux is CTRL-SHIFT-u followed by 4 hexadecimal digits. This does not work in Sublime Text 2. How is this done?

And please, if this is documented somewhere, tell me where ???
