Additions to Heroku sms? - Missing Moonshado

As of 6 months ago or so, Moonshado had Heroku to add sms to one application. My one hero application using moonshado still works (and bills me) and the moonshado instructions still appear in the Heroku Dev Center . However, Moonshado is now missing from the Heroku page. Indeed, no sms service seems to be offered among Heroku's current add-ons.

Does anyone know what happened to Heroku and Moonshado, and what is the best way to add sms to new Heroku applications?

Edit: 2014-06-25 - As I detailed in the answer below, I have sms to work with my rail application using Twilio .

Looks like Heroku has a new add-on, Blower.io , which offers SMS. This is in beta and only the free version is currently available - 30 outgoing messages / mn - but worth checking out. I have not yet had the opportunity to play with him, but I hope soon. Thank Heroku - BenU

I noticed that my application stopped working recently, and Heroku support just told me that moonshado stopped working for several hours in February 2013. There were no explanations.

In particular, Heroku support wrote:

Hey Ben

Moonshado stopped working for several hours in February. You will find your account in February, when we switched you to a free plan, on the 1st, so that you do not incur any additional costs, and in March we completely abandoned the add-on.

Not sure why it disappeared on the addons page, but you can add Moonshado using the CLI:

heroku addons:add moonshadosms:free

Documents (which have incorrect CLI instructions): https://devcenter.heroku.com/articles/moonshadosms
