Are there published Google API bandwidth specifications?

I am developing a Google APP Engine, or perhaps just a direct GCS application. The client captures video streams from cameras and wants to selectively transfer them to the cloud.

Possible goals:

  • Google App Engine App
  • Google Cloud Storage (JSON)
  • Google Drive API
  • Google Hangouts (including Hangouts On Air)

Considering various architecture options (all of which have great potential), we need to know what is the maximum bid for loading.

Perhaps this is a very naive question, and the speed is "faster than you can give, this is data." If so, then that’s all I need to know, and that's great. But if not, I would like to have an idea of the bandwidth for one connected client.

Is that a reasonable question? Thanks in advance for your help!

I would say that this is relevant:

  • HD video streams come in at about 4-8 Mbps . I am sure that any of these services can handle this.
  • Google services (AppEngine, Drive, etc.) support hundreds of millions of users. Several of your users do not affect overall performance.
  • None of these services supports real video streaming - the entire file download and after its completion, other clients can start downloading it.
  • Afaik Hangouts does not display low-level video APIs. The user must use their plugin to use Hangouts. This means that you cannot directly upload videos.
