Tool for creating mutable images

Question

I work with a created photoshop psd designer that contains various user interface elements for an iOS application, and I cut their backgrounds into smaller images and use resizableImageWithCapInsets to increase efficiency. There are many of them, and this is a rather tedious job.

I am looking for a tool that will help in this process, for example Draw NinePatch , which will take the .png file, and the list of attachments in the lid, and then spit out less .png.

Has anyone heard of this?
