A colon (:) gives a loading error in the local YAML file

I have a line in en: locale which

 display_device: to play : get player 

The colon notation gives me an error that

cannot load translations from C: / Documents and Settings / rajg / discoveryaws / branches / internationalization / config / locales / en.yml, it is expected that it will return a hash, but not

How can I do this job?

You can avoid the colon (and other important characters) in your string if you surround it with such quotation marks:

 display_device: "to play : get player"
