SEO: Category and Product Path (URL) - Magento

I have one or two categories in magento, but they do not always appear in the url.

Example:

When I go to the product page, the path is as follows:

.../cat/subcat/product.html

However, when I click on a product directly from the main page (the newest, recognized), the structure of the URL is as follows:

 .../product.html

My first thought was to deactivate that the category is displayed in the URL (backend seo tab).

Well, I'm trying a seo store and am not very happy with this decision. I would always have a clear structured URL.

Any ideas?

If your site has a complex structure, you will have multiple URLs for a single product, as you mentioned. This situation can damage your website to the client, but it will not be a problem for the search engine. The latest version of Magento provides canonical URL support for the product and category. You can access the configuration in the section

System β†’ Configuration β†’ Catalog β†’ Search Engine Optimization β†’ Using Canonical Like Meta Tag for Products

If you intend to resolve this situation through, you can create a URL entry in the URL you want with a status code of 403, which will also show the search engine that the content is constantly being transferred to the destination URL and the user can only access the URL The address you want to submit.

The problem is that a product can belong to several categories, and which category should be used in this case? Depending on how you display the latest, excellent, etc., Instead, you can use the static block and simply enter the products manually, which can then be associated with the product in the desired category. This is a manual process, but one that will work for what you want to do without requiring special work. cheers adam
