ADB does not recognize Nexus 4 - more tips

Following ADB, Nexus 4 does not recognize Windows 7. I am having problems so that the Eclipse android development environment recognizes my new Nexus 4. My Nexus S interlocutor has no problems.

I believe I followed all the tips in this previous post, but I'm still stuck.

Can someone who managed to get nexus 4, available for Android development in Windows 7, tell me what is their driver part for the “Android Composite ABD Interface”? My word: * Driver provider: "Google Inc" * Driver date: 27/08/12 * Driver version: 7.0.0.1

When my phone storage is installed on PTP or MTP, I still can not see it through eclipse "Android Virtual Device Manager".

When installing on PTP, if I run the adb devices command described in the related article, I get an entry that appears in the dos field, but nothing in the “Android Virtual Device Manager” in eclipse.

Your Nexus 4 is not a virtual device, so it will not appear in the Virtual Device Manager.

If you open the "Devices" view, you should see your Nexus 4 list, and when you start the application, it should ask you to start it as a physical or virtual device.

The solution is to connect your device to PTP instead of MTP, and it works. Connected devices are not displayed in the AVD manager. AVD Manager is designed for emulators. To show connected devices, you only use ADB with this command:

adb devices

Uninstall the device driver completely from Windows and reinstall it.

If you do not see the device in the Devices list:

First you need to make sure that USB debugging is enabled on your device. Settings-> DeveloperOptions: enable debugging and enable USB debugging. Ideally, you will install the USB drivers from Google and it will work fine: http://developer.android.com/tools/extras/oem-usb.html#InstallingDriver . In some cases, a new installation may ruin the connection to the device. You can try:

  • It may lose connection, so you can try:
adb kill-server adb start-server adb devices
  • Updating new tools may spoil the settings: Go to the "Storage Settings" section and try to connect to the media (MTP) or camera (PTP). Swtiching to one of them will help

  • Cancel authorization, disable usb debugging and enable
