How to get the latest tweet from Twitter?

I tried to get the latest twitter from twitter using the link below.

http://api.twitter.com/1.1/statuses/public_timeline.json

But that does not work. SO, please tell me how to get the latest tweets.

It seems that the statuses/public_timeline.json API statuses/public_timeline.json was removed last October, so it is not included in API v1.1.

Twitter Dev Docs is recommended to use the statuses/sample.json . See here for the API specification.
