Appengine vs Nodejs Cost for Analytics App

I have currently built our current application using nodejs and mongodb. This was done under the assumption that the cost of recording dates for appengine will become too expensive than hosting nodejs and mongodb.

I need help identifying differences in the cost of an application that will grow to say "around 50 requests / second." Each request is registered in the database. Entities are really simple (id, datetime, email_address). Data is not processed / deleted.

  • Use a nodejs host provider such as nodejitsu (not sure how many drones I will need for such traffic). Mongohq for hosting db. Or anyone you may prefer to cut costs.

  • Use appengine for the same model with integrated datastore

  • Use appengine with Google Cloud SQL

Thanks.

You can put it in AppFog and get up to 512 MB of RAM for free.

Regarding Nodejitsu - 50 requests per second should be in order for 1 hum.

Even a very small VPS with 128 MB of RAM can also handle this load.
