Smoothing stylish fonts in NSOutlineView

I am currently working on an application that uses Lion new view-based NSOutlineView . However, the problem I am facing is that I am not getting beautiful sub-pixel anti-aliasing. As a result, the text does not look as smooth as you would expect on Mac OS X.

Any idea what might cause this problem?

Do you have a cell view, your general view, or its encompassing scroll view to support a layer? The problem here is that the text on the right is not a subpixel with an alias, which happens when you set the view to support the layer.
