What is the difference between notable_for and notable_types properties?

I see that in the Freebase theme dump there are /common/topic/notable_types and /common/topic/notable_for .

What is the difference between the two? I assume both provide prominent theme types.

Your guess is wrong. notable_for can be things other than types. Justin Bieber ( /m/06w2sn5 ) is known as a singer-songwriter ( /m/016z4k ), who is a profession, not a type. In addition, notable_types is ambiguous, while notable_for is unambiguous.
