Why is it so slow to open XML files in an Eclipse editor?

This happens very often, even if the XML size is small.

Does anyone have the same problem?

Do not download the built-in milestone as suggested in another answer. This has long been fixed in Eclipse 4.2.2, so it’s easy enough to upgrade an existing installation to 4.2.2 using the built-in update manager.

There is an error in the eclipse mentioned by user 1929959. If you follow the link provided by them, you can see the solution.

You can find the fix at http://granite.eclipse.org/eclipse/downloads/drops4/M20121107-1200/ the corresponding update site: - http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.2-M-builds

Note:

  • But be careful, updating your Java EE package most likely will not work, above the update site for the Eclipse SDK is only at this point, sorry.
  • If you read the full post in the link ( https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=391868 ) provided earlier, you can get more detailed information.
