Location Status Update

When you post a regular status update on Facebook, it keeps track of your current location and gives you the nearest city near time. Ie: May 24 near New York, New York. Please note that this is not a registration.

I try to do the same without looking for the page identifier (place) and checks. I tried placing coordinates with latitute and longitute , but it does not show the nearest city.

please check this URL https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/api/status/

you need to pass the coordinates as an object called a place, and it will contain details about the place, a few details about the place’s object ...

object containing id and name of Page associated with this location, and a location field containing geographic information such as latitude, longitude, country, and other fields (fields will vary based on geography and availability of information)

I understand that this is an old question, but for confirmation, posting through the app may allow you to mark a place using the place identifier.
