JavaScript - detect scrollbars in cross-domain iframe?

I load a cross-domain page (which I do not control) in an iframe.

I want to know if this will cause the scrollbar to appear in the iframe on my page or not.

I get the impression that this simply cannot be done (at least in Firefox), using any direct detection or smart inference due to the cross-domain security policy.

Please answer this question only if you have direct experience when you do it yourself - or try everything and give up.

(The other discussions you want to send me do not work for cross-domain iframes without control over the embedded page. And if you think jQuery should have something to do this, check it first to make sure.)

TIA - I do not have an SO account to respond to your answers. (Now)

This cannot be done due to browser security model. If this were possible, this would be a security issue and should be fixed. For a more complete explanation, see My complete answer to this similar question .
