How to connect Spring toolbar to Windows 7 taskbar

When the Spring Tool Suite starts, right-clicking on the icon on the taskbar does not display the pin-to-taskbar option (only a new task ..., activate the task ... and close the window available). There is no way to bind STS to the taskbar.

Is there a way to bind STS to the taskbar?

I had this problem with STS version 3.2.0-RELEASE for x64 for Windows 7. It worked for me, which is also described here :

  • Check eclipse.ini and make sure that the path to the VM points to the bin directory of your JDK or JRE, and not to javaw.exe. For me, the argument is D:/Development/Languages/Java/Development Kit/bin/
  • Disable Eclipse from the taskbar or remove the shortcut
  • Run eclipse.exe in Windows Explorer and select a workspace
  • Close Eclipse in the taskbar after loading the splash screen and when the main window is displayed.
