Leopard rust

I tried macport for rust and it failed. How to compile rust on a leopard, if I can run mono (and mono-develop) and make haxe on a leopard, then you need to use rust. I have gcc 4.6, so a fairly recent compiler setup.

I am interested in trying rust, and now that the early port of hax rust is even more interested. I can open my computer, but to be honest, I am always experimenting on my mac, so if I cannot install it on this leopard system, I doubt that I will study it properly. Any rust cooking tips were appreciated.

And looking at the mailing list, this suggests that even if I updated, I am currently having problems running rust on mac.

Unfortunately, with regard to Leopard support, no one has stepped up to provide circulation efforts; Mozilla-based kernel developers are currently targeting newer versions of OSX, so volunteers are better off supporting other options. We have so much time.
