End a session with Flurry Analytics on iOS

I have an iOS application using the Flurry Analytics SDK. This application is used as a kiosk in setting up a museum when it is in controlled access mode. I need to be able to start and end new sessions without leaving the application. The documentation states that the SDK will send data and start a new session when you close and when the application is paused. Since this application has never terminated or paused (in the background), I do not receive any analytical data without the need to exit the managed access mode and exit the application.

I asked the Flurry team about this and didn’t get an answer, but I thought it was worth checking to see if anyone had a similar problem.

Not tested, but could it be as easy as using

[FlurryAPI endSession]; 

and then calling

 [FlurryAPI startSession:"API KEY HERE"];
