Due Diligence: Given the deployment of Octopus, is it possible to use System Center instead?

I am currently evaluating the automatic deployment options of our applications (ASP.Net websites, WCF services, etc.), and while Octopus Deploy looks like with low friction and at reasonable prices. A few hours later I was able to put together a brief demonstration and showed it to my boss. He was impressed, but would like to know if we can do something like this using the Microsoft System Center , as it is included in our MS license agreement. We do not currently use SC, but we plan to start using it as a replacement for several products that we currently use for other tasks.

Reaching point:

  • Is it possible to deploy websites / services / etc. using some component of System Center?
    • How hard is it to get started?
    • What are the prerequisites?

If there is some kind of conductor going through the process, then everything is better.

Microsoft seems to have acquired InRelease for this purpose. There is a preview version for 2013 here .
