Ping works in one direction, but not vice versa

I have two systems on my network.
Network and OS configuration: 1) Windows 2008 Server
ip-10.192.15.41
subnet - 255.255.255.0
Gateway-10.192.15.28

2) Windows XP
ip-10.192.58.122
subnet - 255.255.255.128
Gateway-10.192.58.1

My problem is that I can ping from Xp to Win-Server. But I can not ping from the server on XP.

What I have tried so far:
1) I tried to ping the gateway from the server, that is 10.192.15.28, but it shows "Destination host unreachable".
2) Loopback works fine on the server, i.e. 127.0.0.1
3) ICMP is enabled on the server for both V4 and V6.

So how can I ping from server to XP? Or is there something I am missing?

You must enable ping in the Windows firewall:

Quote from http://www.ucs.cam.ac.uk/docs/faq/windows/m8 :

  • Open the control panel (from the Start menu, select "Control Panel" or "Settings", and then "Control Panel").
  • Open the Windows Firewall (click “Network and Internet Connections,” then “Windows Firewall” or double-click “Windows Firewall.” The Windows Firewall dialog box tabs, make sure that it is turned on (recommended). [You do not need to use two firewalls. This can lead to confusion: if you intend to use Windows Firewall but have another firewall installed (for example, ZoneAlarm), you should uninstall it - preferably before installing Windows XP SP2. If you decide that you prefer the Windows Firewall alternative you can always reinstall vit later].
  • Click the Advanced tab.
  • In the ICMP field, click the "Settings ..." button.
  • Check the Allow incoming ping box.
  • Click OK and then OK again.
  • Close the control panel.
