Will the raspbian SD card work interchangeably between RPi units?

I made a surveillance webcam for my parents using a raspberry Pi, but they managed to somehow break the SD slot. Will the new RPi paired with the (working) SD card from the previous build work out of the box?

Yes, raspberries do not have a built-in OS, just a BIOS, it only works with an SD card for everyone.

Since the two RPi have the same specifications, the only difference will be in the software, which will be the same since you are using the same SD card.
