Active Directory Authentication Does Not Work on iPad (Safari Browser)

my site integrated active directory authentication, when some hit my site from the Safari Ipad browser, the AD credentials window appears, if the user clicks the cancel button, then the page is stuck, nothing happens, it should be redirected to page 401, but it’s not.

Can anyone tell me what's wrong with that?

It seems that ios7 violated Windows authentication:

There are several workarounds:

  • Set Safari to private browsing mode.
  • Download chrome on ios7

I fixed this on my servers in IIS 7.5 by changing authentication from Windows Authentication to Basic Authentication for the site. In IIS, select a site, double-click the Authentication icon, then turn off Windows Authentication and turn on Basic Authentication.
