Open the facebook iOS app on a specific page

Does anyone know how to deeply link the Facebook iOS app?

I googled and found solutions like:

fb: // PAGENAME fb: // page / PAGENAME fb: // Profile / PAGENAME http://www.facebook.com/PAGENAME

... but none of them work anymore, either in the iOS 6 application for Facebook, or in the iOS 7 application for Facebook.

The only solution I found was a link to: http://m.facebook.com/PAGENAME . This works by opening Safari, but the experience is pretty bad, as the user does not have to register.

I found that using the page id with a simple Facebook URL, as in the example below:

 [[UIApplication sharedApplication] openURL:[NSURL URLWithString: http://www.facebook.com/PAGEID]];

he will...

  • If Facebook is installed: open the page in the application
  • Other: open page in Safari

I tested it on iOS 7, I can not guarantee that it works in older versions.
