Why don't the Chrome developer tools sometimes show the CSS source?

enter image description here

Why is the triangle in the bottom right corner of the Chrome Developer Tools sometimes displayed against the CSS source (indicating - if you click on it - the CSS source), like the width in my screenshot ...

but sometimes not ... like in height in my screenshot.

In other words, how can I determine what sets height = 575px?

It looks like in this case the element does not have a given css height that applies to it. It is calculated by the browser based on the size of what it contains, for example, in a div container, browser window, etc.
