Changes are not reflected in PhpStorm after a GIT check on a remote machine

Question

I am using PhpStorm to work with a remote project in VM. Everything is fine, except when I check the branch on VM, I do not see the changes reflected in PhpStorm.

I can download the whole project again, but it takes a long time.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?
