Storm - DRPC and Transactional vs. Trident - When to use what?

Trident seems to have deprecated DRPC and transactional topologies. And it’s also not so clear why a regular topology cannot do what the DRPC topology would do. What is a specialty with DRPC topology?

Can someone explain when to use DRPC, Transactional, Trident?

Trident is also available in Storm 0.8.x. The first release of Storm, including Trident, was 0.8.0. For more information, see the message in the storm user group.
